I wonder if loyalty has anything to do with believing Jerusalem was destroyed in 607 BCE despite all of the facts proving otherwise.

Did any of us ever enjoy meetings?
by stephanie61092 inthis is a legitimate question.
did any of us ever find real joy in being at the meetings?
did any of us ever finish a meeting and think "i feel so enriched"?

I'm going to blunt here. Yes I did, very much in fact that it moved me to pioneer. It satisfied a need and provided comfort. The Bible and the WT's explanation of the way it works sounded great to someone who lost her sister and wanted to see her again.
I enjoyed the association with like minded individuals. It provided a certain structure to my life. It made me feel superior to others including my own husband which I regret now everyday. But at the same time I never felt good enough as if I was not a loyal servant of Jehovah and basically lived in sackcloth and ashes and like a good abused dog who loves his master I kept coming back for more.
Holy mother of God was I ever brainwashed! It literally is unbelievable to look back now and see how easily influenced I was which is why now I'm the most skeptical person alive. I question everything as if it is all a lie. I guess it was a learning session never to be repeated.
PS I'm now basically an agnostic/atheist. The expression holy mother of God is something my Irish side of the family uses and now I gladly use it.

More wonderful news! So many recently have been coming out of the woodwork so to speak and it shows that people are waking up to the facts.
Facts can be dangerous. The internet is allowing people to discover the truth about the truth TTATT as other calls it.
PS I was going to start a new thread about this but last night I was officially disfellowshipped or so they told me. Of course I did not attend nor do I care! It feels like a great burden has been lifted off my shoulders. My husband and I celebrated and since awakening, our relationship has never been better.

GrreatTeacher you might be surprised. I know I'm going to get attacked for saying this but my hubby is a NRA member and I support gun rights in the USA. I believe the 2nd protects the 1st. With that said, I openly support drug legalization, the right to pro choice abortion so long as it is not government funded, and gay rights. And I believe in dismantling the school to prison industrial complex that funds for profit prisons. I posted my beliefs before but I'm sure it has gone unnoticed here in the barrage of junk. -

What is the motivation behind the JW org?
by Half banana inthe gb has recently said that the brothers are generously contributing lots of money (at gunpoint it seems!
) so why with a billion dollar annual income do they demand more cash?
they have staunched the outward flow of money on paid preachers, zone overseers and bethel expenses and stalled the promised worldwide luxury buildings projects..

Nobody said it better than L Ron Hubbard but I'm sure CT Russell said it first.

That's a good question. When you are on the inside, it seems like they are for Jehovah. Their actions tell otherwise.
I'd love to see their 501c3 status removed. They do zero charity work. During Hurricane Katrina in 2004, the society sent their equipment to build their money making machines also known as Kingdom Halls. The leftover time they had they helped some brothers and sisters in need. Seems nice, right? Well before they began to do any reconstruction work, they told them to apply for their homeowners insurance first and then give the check to them. They loved to make photo ops for the local newspapers when they saw fit. Other brothers and sister were assisted by the local congregation money only. Which means all that donating didn't do anything.
If someone like Cedars, Paul or even Simon from this site would organize a rally and movement to that end, my husband and I would donate a hefty sum for that cause to get the word out.

"I hope Disfellowshipped ones do not attend the Memorial"
by AFRIKANMAN ind---head comment ...by someone called jay witness on that forum-.
what a smug bunch of pharisees they breed !
"""it makes me feel odd to invite tons of worldly people who are obviously fornicators and idolaters and then not be able to even show a little love such as a "hello" to a disfellowshipped brother or sister.

"Secret locations only"
I agree. All JW's should meet in Kim Jong-un's secret underground bunker and stay there. Forever. Amen.
